Why visit Srilanka?

srilanka map

We don’t know how to describe Srilanka…Should we call it a tear shaped island in the Indian Ocean, south of India?Should we call it a cultural hot spot with Buddhist and Hindu cultures co-existing happily? Should we call it a history buff’s dream with ruins galore dating back to the era Before Christ?
Should we call it the die-hard legend seeker’s paradise – after all, it finds mention in ancient texts like the Ramayana where the climax gets played out here and the writings of Ptolemy? Should we call it the surfer and beach-enthusiast’s utopia – after all, some of the world’s best beaches are here?
Should I call it the wildlife-enthusiast’s playground – after all, the country  abound with wildlife and wildlife reserves – elephants to leopards to birds?

It will be simpler to call it all of the above. For this country is a combination of all of this and more. . . It has a rich bounty of nature, wildlife and is blessed with a lovely tropical climate. No wonder that it was inhabited by humans for ages. . . and hence a hoary history and cultural treasures. . .

The traveller now can look forward to amazing experiences depending on inclination – culture, history, nature or wildlife. . . And the Ramayana legend follower can follow the legendary Lord Rama’s trail through this island rumoured to be the bastion of his rival King Ravana.

Oh and for topping is the most amazing local food and drink and the most friendly and hospitable of people. . What else can one ask for?

What our Srilanka Travellers Say

Hema PratapaBeyonder Traveller - Srilanka

Beyonder helped us plan our family vacation to SriLanka. The planning process took into account various preferences for activities, restrictions and stay options. It was an interactive and iterative process that made us feel quite comfortable with the itinerary.

The trip itself was executed flawlessly. Firstly, the travel app from Beyonder had all the details including local guide, driver numbers, e-visa, health insurance all in one place which was super handy. We also had regular contact with the team via WhatsApp status checks daily and all the planned activities and stays were better than expected. An ideal way to execute vacations stress free! Highly recommend team Beyonder.

Rajeev, Indu & ShreyaBeyonder Traveller - Srilanka

A break from work and school for the family is something we always look forward to. Beyonder chalked out an interesting itinerary over 5 days, covering hill stations, monasteries, temples, beaches, and some adventure activities. We were well-taken care from the time we landed in Colombo, until our departure.

Thanks to Beyonder for making our vacation memorable.
